Don't feel like going out, got stuck in the jam with the rest of the people, my housemates decided to have a small steamboat feast of our own this new year's eve.
Went shopping for some ingredients:
Juicy veggie
No steamboat (and bak-kut-teh for that matter) would be complete without this (金針菇)!
Some not-so-fresh supermarket prawn:
Add in a whole lota other processed food, a gas pot, and we have got ourselves a steamboat feast!
Oh, and in case you've forgotten, we've got one of the nicest views in town, so we don't have to go anywhere just to "watch" fireworks! In fact, we saw more than four fireworks display yesterday. It's from a distance of course! But if you count in the I-can-sit-at-home-and-avoid-all-that-crowd factor, it's all great!

I find that sometimes, the best wisdom and knowledge in live are obtained thru word of mouth. Best of all, many of them come unintentionally. All because we are willing to open our mouth to chat/talk. These already-walked-path-info are usually better than those you could ever find in books or manuals. Simply because it is their tried and true experience, and it applies better.
